My Waikato Wedding : All you need is love

December 18, 2014

Andy and I got married (again!) this November in my Mum and Dad’s garden. There were only four of us at our first wedding in the gorgeous Scottish highlands….but we always said we wanted to have a proper wedding celebration with friends and family. Four years later we actually did. We were lucky enough to have family and friends join us from around the World for the occasion, and our two beautiful boys Jamie and Flynn…this time round it was going to be all about those who mattered the most.

I wanted our celebration to be super relaxed, fun and colourful, vibrant, full of laughs, music and the noise of happy kids. I took inspiration from Mum’s garden, picked and foraged and didn’t order a thing! It made a nice change from all the planning I do for my lovely brides!

Our families were amazing, so willing to help… and of course our friends. The gorgeous Courtney Horwood captured the day perfectly, Casey from The Heirloom loaned us some amazing pieces and the sweet sounds of From the Sun entertained everyone all afternoon… thanks guys!

My one piece of advice after planning our big day? Make your wedding true to yourself, focus on what’s important to you, go with the flow and most of all remember why you are there – to declare your love for the one you love.
